America...Companion Pattern for Yankee Doodle Dandy Quilt

This pattern contains the following:

• Design files and instructions for the words and letters in the following formats: .ART, .ART60, .DST, .EXP, .HUS, .JEF, .PES, .VIP, .VP3.

• Each row has been divided into several hoopings. A hoop with an embroidery field that is AT LEAST 200mm x 300mm (7.8” x 11.8”) is required.

• Easy to follow, step-by-step instructions for embroidery and table runner.

• Mirror and non-mirror templates for cutting out shapes.

• Cutting instructions and SVG cutting files that can be used with your preferred electronic cutting machine.

(This pattern is NOT for the type of applique where you cut away the extra fabric. The templates are the actual applique

size and after cutting out the pieces, you will place the pieces within stitched-out placement lines.)

Fabric and Other Materials:

• Yankee Doodle Dandy pattern by Holly Lesué for Maker Valley (Follow instructions in pattern for making quilt HOWEVER, read pages 3, 7, and 12 of these instructions before cutting your fabric out!!!)

• Fabric scraps for letters

• Light weight, paper-backed fusible web (Pellon 805, also called Wonder Under) for applique

• Heavy-weight, tear-away stabilizer for embroidery machine applique ( I use 1.8 oz.)

• 11/4 yards of Pellon 101, fusible interfacing

• Coordinating threads for embroidery

• Erasable or water soluble pen

This pattern was not designed for the type of applique where you cut away the extra fabric. The templates are the actual applique size and after cutting out the pieces, you will place the pieces within stitched-out placement lines.

HOWEVER: You CAN use the cutaway method for your applique, but you will have to repeat the placement line after you place your fabric down and before you cut your fabric away.   I do not include a second placement line or a tack down stitch in my designs.
