This Prickly Pear Wall Hanging embroidery applique pattern is based on UPDATED versions of my Prickly Blooms and More Prickly Blooms patterns. I have increased the satin stitch width and simplified some of the fill patterns.
Finished size: 39" x 39"
This pattern contains the following:
- A collection of machine embroidery designs in the following formats: .DST, .EMB, .EXP, .HUS, .JEF, .PES, and .VP3.
- The blocks can be stitched out two ways:
**Designs Only: each of the nine cactus designs range between 5” x 7” and 5” x 9 3/4”. A hoop that is at LEAST 160mmx 260mm (6.25 x 10.25) is required.
**Pre-quilting for Designs: Although it is a bit more work, I have included design files for pre-quilting your blocks for designs. The 11 1/4” x 11 1/4” blocks will each require two hoopings. A hoop that is at LEAST 200mm x 300mm (8.00 x 12.00) is required. After quilting your blocks, you can then proceed to the nine cactus designs.
-
BONUS: Prickly Pear Banner - pictured on Back Cover of pattern.
- Easy to follow, step-by-step instructions.
- Mirror and non-mirror templates for cutting out shapes.
- PDF templates and SVG cutting files that can be used with your preferred electronic cutting machine.
This pattern was not designed for the type of applique where you cut away the extra fabric. The templates are the actual applique size and after cutting out the pieces, you will place the pieces within stitched-out placement lines.
HOWEVER: You CAN use the cutaway method for your applique, but you will have to repeat the placement line after you place your fabric down and before you cut your fabric away. I do not include a second placement line or a tack down stitch in my designs.
