This pattern includes digitized embroidery applique designs compatible with the Quiltworx Carnival Flower. Foundation papers and applique sheets are sold separately.
The CD contains machine embroidery designs in the following formats: .ART, .DST, .EXP, .HUS, .JEF, .PES, .VIP, .VP3.
There are three methods to complete the embroidery for your dots and gumdrops: applique with decorative embroidery, applique with a satin stitch, and solid embroidery. (See front pattern cover for examples.)
Units F1, F2, G1, and G2 can be stitched in one hooping each using a hoop with an embroidery field that is at least 200mm x 200mm (7.8” x 7.8”). Units J1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 can be stitched in two hoopings each using a hoop with an embroidery field that is at least 200mm x 200mm (7.8” x 7.8”).

This pattern was not designed for the type of applique where you cut away the extra fabric. The templates are the actual applique size and after cutting out the pieces, you will place the pieces within stitched-out placement lines.
HOWEVER: You CAN use the cutaway method for your applique, but you will have to repeat the placement line after you place your fabric down and before you cut your fabric away. I do not include a second placement line or a tack down stitch in my designs.
