Finished size: 51" x 48"

This pattern contains design files and instructions for Jungle Fun, in the following formats: .DST, .EMB, .EXP, .HUS, .JEF, .PES, .VP3. This whimsical child’s quilt is modular, so that you can either make the entire quilt or use different design combinations to make your own banners or pillows.

• There are eight different size ANIMAL blocks (A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4, A-5, A-6, A-7, A-8) and three different size WORD blocks (W-1, W-2, W-3). And, there are three options for stitching them out:

  1. Quilted Animal and Word Blocks: designs range from 71/2 x 71/2 to 101/2 x 101/2". You will need a range of hoops from 8" x 12" (200mm x 300mm) to 105/8"x 16” (270mm x400mm) and all but two blocks can be stitched out in a single hooping. See pages 4 and 5 for exact design sizes and recommended hoop sizes.
  2. Pre-quilted Animal and Word Blocks: If your largest hoop is 200mm x 300mm (8" x 12"), you will be able to stitch out several of the blocks in a single hooping. However, I have included design files for pre-quilting the larger blocks using an 8” x 12” hoop and combining them with the Non-Quilted designs to complete the blocks. Each of these larger blocks will require three hoopings - two for the pre-quilting and one for the design. See pages 4 and 5 for exact design sizes and recommended hoop sizes.
  3. Non-Quilted Animal and Word Blocks: all designs are approx. 6" x 7". A hoop that is at LEAST 160mm x 260mm (6.25 x 10.25) is required. See page 6 for exact design sizes.

• Exact cutting instructions are provided in the Cutting Instructions PDF.

• You can either print out all the different sets of instructions and stitch-outs or view them in PDF form on an iPad or laptop computer while you stitch out the blocks.

• Also included are Mirror and Non-Mirror templates for cutting out shapes by hand and PDF templates and SVG cutting files that can be used with your preferred electronic cutting machine.

This pattern was not designed for the type of applique where you cut away the extra fabric. The templates are the actual applique size and after cutting out the pieces, you will place the pieces within stitched-out placement lines.

HOWEVER: If you are going to use the cutaway method for your applique, you will have to repeat the placement line after you place your fabric down and before you cut your fabric away.   I do not include a second placement line or a tack down stitch in my designs.
