Rosalita is my second brightly colored applique quilt design based on floral embroidery designs from the early 1930s. The name, Rosalita, is the Spanish version of the name Rosa, which is also the Latin word for the genus of the rose plant, the flowers used in this quilt. The finished quilt is for embroidery machine applique and is approx. 59” square.
The embroidery designs on the CD come in the following formats: .art60, .art, .dst, .exp, .hus, .jef, .pes, .vip, .vp3.
The designs have been divided up so that they can be stitched out using a hoop with an embroidery field that is at least 300mm x 200mm (11.8” x 7.8”) OR a hoop that is 150mm x 255mm (5.8” x 15.7” - Bernina Mega Hoop). The number of hoopings will depend on the size of the hoop. Exact design sizes are listed at the top of each of the hooping stitch-outs.
*Pattern includes cutting instructions and SVG cutting files that can be used with your preferred electronic cutting machine.
This pattern was not designed for the type of applique where you cut away the extra fabric. The templates are the actual applique size and after cutting out the pieces, you will place the pieces within stitched-out placement lines.
HOWEVER: You CAN use the cutaway method for your applique, but you will have to repeat the placement line after you place your fabric down and before you cut your fabric away. I do not include a second placement line or a tack down stitch in my designs.
